RJC Charity Calendar

Chris Jackson, Zena Jackson and John Harrison supporting Melanoma UK

Although for the last 10 years, we’ve become known for our grab hire and road sweeper services provided across Yorkshire, there’s something else RJC has become known for too.

Giving back is one of our core business values, and for the past decade we’ve enjoyed giving back to many organisations and charities in our local community. Helping those in need and recognising hidden heroes is something we’ve continued to do whenever possible.

For many years we’ve had the pleasure of raising thousands of pounds for charities including the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, the Lighthouse Charity, and Cancer Research. We’ve also enjoyed bestowing random acts of kindness on unsuspecting community heroes, including giving afternoon teas to the elderly during covid, rewarding teachers for their hard work at our local school, donating to food banks and dog charity’s. We‘ve even had our hand at playing the big man himself, Santa, in our inaugural RJC Jolly Drive thru at Christmas last year, collecting presents for the Cash for Kids appeal.

So what’s next?

As we celebrate our 10th business anniversary this year, we’ve decided to do something a little out of the ordinary and out of our comfort zone to mark the special occasion.

Drum roll, please… we’re launching the RJC Charity Calendar featuring our very own team workers who will get their kit off and striking strategically positioned poses!

Yes, you read that right. It’s going to be a cheeky, fun-filled calendar – think Calendar Girls –  and all for a fantastic cause!

All the profit proceeds from the calendar sales will go to Melanoma UK. Skin cancer is a serious issue, especially for men who work in the construction industry, with the sector making up 44% of the “vocational” skin cancer deaths per year in the UK.

We want to raise both awareness and funds to support research and help those affected.

What better way to do it than with a bit of humour and a lot of heart?

There’s been a lot of laughter, a few blushes, and plenty of camaraderie as we’ve prepared for the photo shoot. The team have been fantastic in getting involved.

It’s all in good fun and for a great cause that is close to our hearts as the husband of one of our team members was recently diagnosed with the disease, and who is also taking part in the shoot!

So, if you’re looking for a way to support a great cause and have a laugh, keep an eye out for the 2025 RJC calendar coming your way soon!

We hope to continue to support great causes and our local community for another 10 years to come, one good deed (and cheeky charity calendar) at a time!
