The RJC team were pleased to welcome several new starters towards the end of last year following a really busy period for the business. One of the latest additions is Liam Meaney. Here’s a few questions to get to know one of our newest members of #TeamRJC
- What’s your role and how long have you been part of the RJC Team?
I am a road sweeper driver and joined the company in November 2020
- What did you do before joining RJC?
Prior to joining the RJC team I was a delivery driver for Samuel Smith’s Brewery based in Tadcaster.
- What does a typical day look like for you?
I often will start the day visiting sites. This time of year, the roads are really clogged with muck and dirt so often we’re needed to clear them away to make them safe and passable. Whether it’s clearing main roads or construction sites, me and the road sweeper are kept busy!
- Why did you want to join RJC?
I saw the role advertised online and thought it sounded like a nice change. When I looked into the company, it seemed really professional, with a great reputation so I applied, had the interview and here I am. I’m really enjoying getting to know the team and that everyday is different.
- Â How has your lockdown experience been?
I think I’m one of the lucky ones as my family haven’t caught the virus, and I don’t have to tackle homeschooling! I have been fortunate to have kept working throughout but know it has been very tough for a lot of people. Fingers crossed this year we’ll see a return to a more normal way of life.
- RJC is a proud Yorkshire company, what do you love most about living/working in the county?
I’ve lived and worked in Yorkshire my whole life. We’re spoilt with incredible landscape and countryside that is ideal for walking and enjoying some fresh air!Â
- Your hidden talent is…
I wouldn’t call it a hidden talent, but I do like a bit of woodwork and that’s kept my busy at home over the last year making everything from tables and benches during lockdown.
